Description

The Deputy Director of Student Accounts/Cash Management supports the Director in overseeing Georgia Military College’s (including the Preparatory School) student account receivables and Federal/State receivables. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in billing, collections, and financial reporting, while contributing to policy development, data forecasting, and team support.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director in managing student receivables, including billing, payments, scholarships, and collections for both the College and Preparatory School.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental policies and procedures.
  • Cross-train with Student Accounts staff to provide operational backup during extended absences.
  • Serve as liaison for compliance with Title IV, State, and Federal regulations, including responsibility for annual 1098-T reporting.
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of dashboards to present financial data in clear, visual, and written formats.
  • Assist with the creation of forecasting models to predict financial outcomes and support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide leadership in resolving escalated student account concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

Minimum Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting-related field
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Physical Requirements include light lifting, prolonged sitting, and extensive computer use
  • Ability to travel occasionally for annual conferences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or Master's degree
  • Experience with dashboard and analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
  • Proficiency in Ellucian/Colleague, Excel, Microsoft Office, knowledge of data export tools
