Inspector, Spec. Position Overview:
Perform a variety of duties/operations to inspect all types of bonded assemblies, parts and details. Use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed details, final and subassemblies. Use various measuring devices. Accepts, rejects, or rework defective and nonconforming components. Work from blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Duties:
- Maintain adherence/conformance to specifications and follow established procedures.
- Work from engineering drawings, blueprints, quality procedures and instructions, manufacturing specifications and procedures, operation and work sheets, electronic data and verbal instructions.
- Inspect for proper installations and integrity
- Use precision measuring instruments performing assigned quality tasks.
- Approve and stamp acceptable assemblies/parts that meet specifications and reject those that do not.
- Perform surveillance inspections of process areas to assure compliance to process requirements.
- Read and interpret withholding tags, standard specifications and standard repair manual.
- Maintain necessary documentation and records.
- Monitor and implement adherence to all safety and department procedures, practices and directives.
- Notify supervision or Lead of all malfunctions, defects, or damages of equipment, material and product.
- Assist and instruct lower classified inspectors with other related duties as assigned.
- Keep work areas clean and orderly.
- May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Knowledge & Educational Requirements:
- Job knowledge requires vocational or similar training, including basic shop math to aid in the interpretation and the utilization of data from engineering drawings, manufacturing specifications and procedures.
- Knowledge of shop routines and practices is required.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers, including operating systems and file management is required.
- High school diploma or an accredited GED preferred; candidates with the ability to obtain an accredited GED are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
- Minimum of Five (5) Years’ experience in Inspection or Manufacturing

- Lifting, climbing, grasping holding, standing, bending and stooping
